About Us Native fish Australia east Gippsland is a branch
of Native fish Australia (see NFA national on home page link) we are
an organisation dedicated to the preservation of our unique native fish
species and the rivers that they inhabit Our members mostly reside in Gippsland and southern NSW and our activities mostly cover this region NFA east Gippsland is involved in a range of activities from hands on conservation activities to angler catch data collection for fisheries research public education and lobbing governments on issues that impact on native fish Many of NFA activities include social activities
for example we run an evening barbeque at events like the Border bass
challenge, the Border
bass challenge is an event where NFA members both East Gippsland and
members from other branches catch and release Australian Bass measuring
and recording catch details from the rivers on either side of the Vic
NSW border region we collect data on population and size and have done
so for the past seven years this assists in providing valuable information
to fisheries on populations and recruitment of bass into these rivers
